本片以山西、陕西两省的民歌风情为例，介绍了许多脍炙人口的著名民歌的历史渊源、现代传承和与之相关的民风民情。如《走西口》、《兰花花》和《东方红》等。同时，本片还真实地记录了活跃在山陕两地、为黄河民歌的发展作出突出贡献的老艺术家和歌王，通过他们的现身说法，从另一个角度展现了民歌之美。
This chapter depicts the pretty folk music, its origin and the feelings of the folk musicians. Many great folk musicians such as Zhao Yue, Wang Xiufang and Liu Baolin are introduced. The audiences will be impressed by the beautiful folk music and the true talents of the folk artists.

The Yellow River is believed to have 99 curves and each of which is thought to hide a mystery. All these mysteries cover the whole reaches of river. The ancient capital cities along the river have taken on a new look but their charms remain unchanged.
