民国初年，时局动荡，汇通天下的丰德票号面临客户挤兑、天津分号被烧，大批国外借款不能收回的困境，生死存亡之际，“银行派”和“票号派”各执一端，导致剧烈冲突。同时，两代人、两个家族之间的爱情婚姻纠葛也一波三折。

The early years of Republic of China were a period of chaos. Fengde Exchange Shop under Universal Exchange was reduced to a state of panic bank withdrawals, another branch in Tianjin was burnt down, a great deal of foreign loan couldn’t be retrieved. At this vital point, “Bank faction” and “Shop faction” divided each other in extreme conflicts. Meanwhile, imbroglio of love and marriage concerning the two generations and two families rendered the situation more complicated.
